Recognising the wide impact of suicide

Every suicide affects far more than one life. Research shows that, on average, 135 people are impacted per suicide – family, friends, colleagues and communities. Suicide can be influenced by many factors, including mental health conditions, traumatic experiences, social isolation and sudden life changes.

Many individuals don’t seek help until a crisis hits. In Warwickshire, local statistics show that approximately 73% of people who die by suicide had not accessed support in the year before their death, and 46% had a known mental health condition, highlighting the urgent need for accessible crisis services.
